The General Directorate of Migration (DGM), called all foreigners residing in the Dominican Republic with temporary and permanent residence due to pass through their offices to renew their immigration documents.

The call was made in a statement of the DGM, which indicates that the renewal of the immigration documentation is required “to avoid being detained in immigration interdiction operations carried out by the institution.”

In the statement, Immigration ensures that immigration interdiction operations are covered by the provisions of Article 25 of Law 285-04, which regulates migration in the country.

“Foreigners allowed to remain in the country are obliged to obtain and maintain in force and carry their immigration documents identification, which should show the competent authority, in this case the DGM, when it is required,” said the statement.

The exhortation of the DGM, it is addressed “to all foreigners who have an immigration status expired” so that by proper renovation regularize their situation and avoid problems with the authorities.

The institution that regulates migration in the country, urged foreigners whose residence papers are due, to pass through its offices Center of Heroes, from 8:00 am (am) to 4:00 PM (pm), Monday through Friday to make appropriate arrangements for renewal.
