DGM recalls that current PNRE documents (carnets and stickers) are valid until August 26, 2018.
The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) appeals to the beneficiaries of the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), who were favored with a Temporary Residence permit and the beneficiaries of Law 169-14 letter B, to pass by the headquarters of the institution from this Monday, October 23, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in order to receive the documentation that accredits the corresponding immigration status.
To receive your documents, foreigners must come personally and present the card of the PNRE or passport with sticker, in addition to the identity card issued by the Central Electoral Board and leave copies of them. Also they must bring two 2×2 photos, white background, without jewels, one of front and another of right profile.
This first stage of the process will be initiated according to the protocol elaborated by the DGM in accordance with the provisions of resolution 01-2017 of the National Council of Migration (CNM), under the authority granted by the General Law of Migration No. 285- 04, which in article 9 authorizes the design of the national migration policy and to plan programs in coordination with the various dependencies of the State.
Said resolution provides, among other things, to extend for one year the validity of the documents issued to the beneficiary population of the PNRE, so that in that period the foreigners regularized submit their request for renewal or change of category and subcategory migratory before the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), so that these people can be transferred to a regular regime under the General Law of Migration No. 285-04.
The DGM clarifies that for this phase of the process, only foreigners who were favored in the PNRE with the categories described above will be able to apply and that no new applications will be received.
Soon, the institution will announce the start date and places for foreigners in the PNRE with a category of NON-RESIDENTS to change or renew their immigration status.
